The OFAH is calling on the next generation. Are you, or someone you know, looking for a volunteer opportunity to get involved at the grassroots level of conservation? Here’s your chance.
Today, we are proud to launch the OFAH NXT-GEN program, created to provide volunteer experiences and opportunities for younger people of all abilities. As an OFAH NXT-GEN Ambassador, you will have direct input into OFAH discussions and be spokespersons and influencers, while gaining valuable experience, connections, and insights into fishing and hunting and conservation management.
So, how does it work? It’s easy. Anyone between the ages of 18-29 can apply by submitting an online application.
Successful candidates will participate as a volunteer with OFAH Advisory Committees, on topics like big game or small game hunting, fisheries, and land use, while also working with other OFAH NXT-GEN Ambassadors to discuss the future of fishing and hunting. Other opportunities could include a chance to represent OFAH on external councils, gain a little personal profile through Ontario OUT of DOORS Magazine and other OFAH communication platforms, and get your hands dirty with some of our conservation programs.
These are just some of the details of this new program, which we’re confident will offer unique experiences and opportunities for personal and professional growth, all while helping the OFAH keep a pulse on the interests of our next generation.
