Ontario is home to eight bat species — four of which are endangered!
Eastern small-footed myotis, little brown myotis, northern myotis and tri-colored bat populations have been declining in recent years — mostly due to a disease called white-nose syndrome.
You can help by:
• reporting sightings of bat species to a community science program like iNaturalist. Learn more at ontario.ca/NHIC.
• installing bat boxes on your property. Learn more at batcon.org/about-bats/bat-houses.
• safely taking bats that get lost in your house outside. Learn how at http://cwhc-rcsf.ca/…/Bats%20in%20Buildings….
