BIG NEWS!! It’s the announcement we have all been waiting for….
CONGRATULATIONS to Larry M. of Plymton-Wymoning Township, Ontario. Larry is the OFAH Catch the Ace Jackpot winner of $394,717.00
Before we talk about Larry, let’s talk about you.
We owe you a BIG THANK YOU. You were one of the very first supporters to get behind the OFAH Catch the Ace game. You pioneered this! You took the lead in making sure we got started off on the path to success by purchasing tickets, or simply keeping up with our e-news and taking pride in the OFAH in every generous way you can. You never hesitated. You recognized the value of a game that puts hard-earned dollars into on-the-ground conservation work.
The OFAH Catch the Ace winner is the kind of person we all know. Larry is 34 years old, and he and his wife are proud parents of an 18-month old baby. Two weeks ago, Larry got a new job. Larry said that 2021 had already broken the tough stretch of the pandemic that recently put him out of work in his former occupation of driving a tow truck.
“With Covid and no one on the roads, I was out of work,” said Larry. But Larry stayed true to his support for conservation, and bought Catch the Ace tickets almost every week, only missing a few weeks when he said he couldn’t afford to play. “If I didn’t win, it was going to a cause that means a lot.”
This morning, life dramatically changed for Larry and his family. While on the phone with OFAH staff, in just seconds of learning about his nearly $400,000 win, he said to his wife “we finally get our house, we finally get our house.”
Larry said the first order of prize money business is to pay off his wife’s student loan debt and then start house shopping.
“I have an ’04 Ram but I’m not getting rid of it. That old Ram is just going to get an upgrade,” he said.
Good people, just like Larry, and just like you, make the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters great. Your enthusiasm for the OFAH inspires us to work even harder for outdoor opportunities and conservation.
Thank you again.
Stay safe. Stay strong.
