Proud of Our Outdoors Heritage

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) is very proud of our rich outdoors heritage.

Since 1928, the O.F.A.H. has remained committed and pro-active in the effort to improve our natural resources and to protect the rights of outdoor enthusiasts. No organization has more experience (or expertise) in promoting the rights and interests of the outdoor community in Ontario.

As a nonprofit, nongovernment organization, the O.F.A.H is a leader when dealing with federal, provincial and municipal governments to get results for fish and wildlife conservation.

Grass-roots Dedication

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters was founded by the volunteer spirit of community-based, outdoor organizations.

Throughout Ontario, thousands of men, women and children are involved in O.F.A.H. Member Clubs and they are doing great things for conservation in their respective communities.

O.F.A.H. Club Members get tremendous satisfaction from both aspects of club membership; the rewards of volunteering to enhance fish and wildlife habitat, and the camaraderie of joining fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

The O.F.A.H. has over 650 member clubs, many of which specialize in a variety of outdoor recreational interests such as: fishing, hunting, trapping, target shooting, archery, falconry, dog training and trials as well as cottagers' activities and land access issues.

Why Being an O.F.A.H. Member Club Makes a Difference

O.F.A.H. Member Clubs are the backbone of local, regional and provincial conservation projects. The members of these fine groups give generously of their time and hard earned dollars to promote our outdoor heritage and contribute to fish and wildlife enhancement work.

O.F.A.H. Member Clubs represent the interests of fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and help raise local concerns with issues affecting our natural resources.

The O.F.A.H. Head Office and O.F.A.H. Zones keep member clubs informed of late breaking conservation developments relevant to their communities. O.F.A.H. Member Clubs are often at the forefront of conservation issues and projects.

100% Burden Free

There is absolutely no "sign-up fee" or administration charges for your club to affiliate with the O.F.A.H. As long as your club's membership fees are paid, your club is considered affiliated and may be eligible to participate in O.F.A.H. Club Insurance Programs.

The O.F.A.H. will not interfere in any way with the internal workings of your club. O.F.A.H. head office staff and Zone representatives are available for advice if requested, and will sometimes ask for your club's participation in certain activities. Your club is free to administer its business in the manner its membership chooses.

There is a substantial cost savings for O.F.A.H. club members compared to individual members joining directly through O.F.A.H. head office. In fact, O.F.A.H. club members save about 35 percent and receive exactly the same benefits as individual O.F.A.H. members.

Under the club membership renewal system the Federation's expenditures for mailing, handling and processing volume memberships is reduced; and, as such, the O.F.A.H. passes the administration saving on to the members themselves.

The O.F.A.H. strives to keep membership rates low, and timely membership handling by the elected club officer goes a long way toward that goal.
